Family fun on the Sunshine Coast

We recently holidayed at the Novotel Twin Waters Resort. This is our second trip to Queensland this year, after a week on the gold Coast in February. The style and far more relaxed pace on the Sunshine Coast is a refreshing change.
Kids of all ages will love this place.  Twin Waters is a great resort for families and resident to two of the best activities on the coast – Segways and their own circus experience.
The Segway rides are a must for everyone and a good enough reason in themselves to come. We did an hour tour through the bush, around the resort and along the boardwalk to the river. The cost is $65 an hour and is fantastic value for the experience, not to mention giving you bragging rights. You have to be 40kg to ride and our 9 & 12 year olds had no problem gliding along.
The circus was the next highlight and the kids were enrolled for a 3 hours schooling in tight rope walking, juggling, trampolining and trapezing. They loved this and our daughter wants to return “twice a year to learn more tricks”.
While there was some inevitable ‘games room’ time, to our delight the most fun was had outdoors on the lakes floating trampoline, kayaking, sailing the hobby cats and just walking around being chased by the bush turkeys.
Don’t miss Australia Zoo for a great day out. It’s about a 20 minute drive from Twin Waters and you’ll spend a good part of the day seeing the crocodile show, tigers, kangaroos, birds and elephants. The Sunshine Coast is a great family holiday.
